Stags sign goalkeeper Collett

We have today signed young goalkeeper Neil Collett. He joined us on trial earlier in the week after being released by Coventry City and has impressed Holdsworth enough to offer him a month to month deal. 

It seems to me that DH may be losing faith in Tim Sandercombes ability. He let in 6 the other day against Chesterfield in a reserve game and apparently he was at fault for two of them. I can’t see any other reason as to why he has brought Neil in. So it looks like Neil and Tim will now fight it out for the number two spot behind Alan Marriott. Because it’s very, very, very unlikely that either of them will dislodge Marriott in the near future.
