Tim Sandercombe joins Weymouth on loan
Goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe has joined Weymouth on loan until the end of the season. Tim joined us in the summer from Stafford Rangers and signed a 1 year deal.
Some first team football will do Sandercombe the world of good. He’s been limited to just 1 game. That was against Tamworth when Alan Marriott got injured during the game. Recently we signed another goalkeeper, Neil Collet. It was on the cards then that Sandercombe would be on his way out soonish.
Tim was never going to be first choice. Especially not with Alan Marriott playing brilliantly week in, week out. The only games Sandercombe has been playing regularly in are arranged fixtures that are played behind closed doors. From reading the reports on those games it seemed like he had been at fault for a few of the goals that we conceded. Maybe this was the reason that DH brought in a new keeper as he wasn’t confident that Sandercombe could do a job if he was called upon.
I can’t see Sandercombe coming back to the Stags in the summer now. I’ve never actually seen him play but I wish him well for the future!
