Stags target signs for Kidderminster Harriers
Stags target Lee Vaughan has signed for Kidderminster Harriers today. The 23 year old was linked with a move to Field Mill last month.
This story came up on the forum 2 or 3 weeks ago. Vaughan who is described as a right wing back on the official Telford website was being chased by ourselves and Kidderminster. In a season where our players have been chopped and changed only one outfield man managed to keep his place. That was of course Gary Silk, our right back. So was it now time for Silk to be replaced? Or had there been interest shown in Silk and DH was looking for somebody to replace him? Who knows. Either way, DH hasn’t managed to get his man.
Neighbours Notts County yesterday released 8 players including Matt Hamshaw who left us 2 seasons ago to join County. Holdsworth is a big admirer of Hamshaw and tried to sign him during last season but couldn’t persuade him. It’s been mentioned on the forum about Hamshaw returning and it’s 50/50 whether people would want him back or not. You can’t fault his quality deliveries but his work rate is questionable at times. Another player who could be worth looking at that in that list is Jamie Clapham. We haven’t had a good left back since dropping down to the BSP and Clapham could do a good job for us, if we could afford him of course.
Whilst we are still waiting for our first signing Cambridge signed four players yesterday. Danny Wright being the stand out one. The kind of player I would’ve liked to see join us! Luton look to be going all out for the title next season. They are rumoured to have signed Dan Gleeson and Danny Crow from Cambridge who scored 20 goals last season. Danny Crows name has been mentioned on our forum as a possible target but we have no chance of competing with Luton for wages.
One player I would definitely not like to see returning is Jefferson Louis who was released from Crawley yesterday.
