It's a case of 'save' the current club and spend years tumbling down the leagues trying to pay off CRIPPLING, and might I add possibly hidden surprises debts, or start again possibly one division lower than the current club will end up very soon, debt-free, and with strong links to the local community, by the fans, for the fans. The AFC Telford United blueprint benchmark.

We know it'll be a hard slog, but we're prepared.

Our club , Mansfield Town are a caring club that if possible they will do their best to help out in any way possible ..
If thats seen by the fans of Chester as negativity , then ok , roll over & let your club die .... we took years in getting rid of the cancer in our club & was bought out by 4 genuine Stags fans ( who run their own businesses ) there's got to be somebody out there with genuine feelings for the club.
If you get expelled from the league , you will spend years in the wilderness ( lets see how loyal your fans are then .
RANT OVER ..... GOOD LUCK ( you are going to need it )

...also, in one of the few matches we were WINNING this season (against the 4th from bottom team we had to catch), a supporters pitch invasion 10 minutes from the end caused it to be ABANDONED (jokingly actually, there were only a dozen or so on the pitch, a number the - unpaid it seems - police could've ejected, surely)
Ask yourselves though, HOW desperate a situation does it have to be for hardcore lifelong supporters of a lowly team (just down the road from Liverpool and Manchester) to take such measures? VERY VERY VERY DESPERATE is the answer.
So please, given that every team we play (with 8 or so youth team players off the local park) will trounce us anyway, what's the benefit from keeping us in an agonising living death? We ARE the case for football euthenasia. OK, Luton and Wimbledon will benefit, but that's about it where it counts, up top

Surely there cannot be anyone involved in the Conference who would vote to keep Chester alive in its present form, or under this ownership. But that the Mansfield owner should make his statement to the contrary is all that's wrong with football at every level - secretely ALL supporters rejoice in the demise of a rival, proportionally few actually genuinely wish others well. And to to truthful, I don't have huge sympathy for the likes of Portsmouth, Leeds, West Ham etc (as club owners, I don't mean the supporters) for overspending hugely in order to get the edge on rivals, thus securing success (and ongoing Prem riches) at other rival teams expense. But PLEASE consider this about the Chester City situation - virtually ALL of its own supporters are pleading with the authorities and rivals for them to help kill the current club off - and are OFFICIALLY boycotting all home games (season ticket holders only turning up) - how often does THAT occur?
We've had a seriously 'fishy' situation going on with ownership of the club, owners who (again) claim vast debts are owing, mostly tio them (since an August clean start, over £700,000? yet these owners appear to have paid few, if any, bills during this time, so how does that math work out?).
Part of why we ended up with a killer 25pt (rather than 10pt) administration deduction this season was because the government agencies didn't believe the previous debt that the same owners said we had (£4 million to them, plus £290,000 to other creditos) was proven - and yet the very same people were allowed to buy the club back? The same family were in charge of Barrow during a previous demise. There's clearly far more beneath the surface, but no one of any enforcement power seems interested... in little clubs.

Perhaps if you read up on our sitauation your opinion may be changed.

Whatever matches we play from now on (and that's a big IF...) will result in three points for the opposition anyway, so why try to safeguard the points you've gained against us when it will prove fruitless in the long run?

The Conference will be made to look ridiculous now. Why they put it a vote, I'll never know.

Chester City FC is already dead, the club will not be able to finish the season. The fans know it, the Conference know it. So why make it more difficult for yourselves dragging it out even longer. I would have thought your board would have been more sympathetic, considering the situation your were in not so long ago.
